Celebrating and Decorating for Cinco de Mayo With a Fiesta On Your Own Dining Room Table

 The perfect way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo is with family and friends surrounding your Amish solid wood dining room table, topped with the best of Mexican-American fun foods. Cinco de Mayo or the Fifth of May is a Mexican holiday celebrated regional in Mexico and nationwide in America, where it is mainly seen as a celebration of the Mexican culture, food and drink. The holiday commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 unbelievable win over French armies at the Battle of Puebla. A little known fact is that the holiday has been celebrated in California by the Chicano community continuously since 1863 but in most of Mexico it is almost ignored.

TABLE TOPPERS AND DECORATIONS-

  • 1. Always use bright, bold colors.
  • 2. Cover the table and custom pad with brightly striped fabric.
  • 3. Make colorful paper tissue flowers.
  • 4. Place a sombrero in the center accented with a row of potted mini-cactus.
  • 5. Make copies of the Mexican flag as placemats or centerpieces
  • 6. Hang a piñata
  • 7. Place homemade maracas at each place setting. Cover toilet paper rolls with brightly colored paper and fill with beans. Seal the ends and shake for sound.

EASY FOOD AND DRINK -

Ingredients:

0.5 oz. Lime juice
0.5 oz. Orange juice
1.5 oz. Sour mix
