Furniture Care

With all the care that is taken by selecting the perfect piece to our vendors getting it to you, we want to help you maintain your furniture's natural beauty. Below you will find some recommendations from our builders to properly care for our solid, hardwood furniture and will ensure its beauty lasting for years to come.

Humidity:
Keep your furniture in a room with a humidity range that is between 35%-45%.  In order to get an accurate read, we recommend using a hygrometer in the room where your furniture is.

Store table leaves in or close to the table to maintain consistent environmental conditions.

Heat:
Keep your furniture out of the path of direct heat sources: heating vents, direct sunlight, etc.  Refrain from putting hot serving items, plates, cups directly on the table surface.

Cleaning:
Wipe down the furniture with a soft, damp cloth.  If necessary, use a mild soap and water with a damp cloth.  Make sure remove any standing water.  We do not recommend using any polishes that contain silicone or wax.  We do have cleaning and polishing products available for purchase.  Check them out here.

Dust table often and carefully with a soft cloth, following the grain pattern to remove abrasive dust particles.

Do not rub your table as this can cause an over buff/shine. Do not use any abrasive cloths or sponges as this can scratch the surface.

Protect Surfaces:  Whenever possible, protect flat surfaces from dragging, scratching, denting or dropping items on them. Use place mats, tablecloths, coasters and the like to offer protection from heat and condensation.

Use caution with any item that can stain, like markers, fruits etc.

Use caution when writing or doing anything that can dent the surface.

Avoid the use of nail polish remover, alcohol or other solvents near the table.

We recommend using table and buffet pads to help protect your dining surfaces to keep them looking great.
