Leaf Storage? What does that mean?

We receive a lot of inquiries about leaf self-storage in our tables, such as how it works and how many leaves can be stored. This blog post will elaborate on the fundamentals of storing leaves and the available options.

This term applies to the ability to store leaves underneath the tabletop. The leaves are placed horizontally on top of the table base or on mounting plates that hold the leaves when not in use.

How Do Leaves Get Installed?

Table leaves are inserted into the center of the table. The table opens with slides under the top. You can then insert the leaves that fit seamlessly with a series of pegs and holes.

Our builders use stamped numbers to allow for leaves to be inserted in the proper order. This video gives an inside look at the assembly process.

Once your furniture is finished and ready to ship, it is carefully prepared and picked up by one of our trusted shipping partners.
You’ll receive an email from us confirming that your order has been picked up and is officially on its way.

Our furniture ships from our warehouse in Goshen, Indiana.
Estimated shipping time is typically 7–20 business days, depending on your location and the shipper’s route schedule.
Please note that this is an estimate, and actual delivery timing may vary slightly.

3. Estimated Communication Timing

Our shipping partners operate on a route-based system, planning their deliveries several days in advance.
You can expect to hear directly from the shipper about 3–5 days before your scheduled route to confirm your availability and delivery details.

Care and Cleaning

Furniture Care
With all the care taken in selecting the perfect piece and getting it to you, we want to help you maintain your furniture's natural beauty. Below you will find recommendations from our builders for properly caring for our solid hardwood furniture and ensuring its beauty lasts for years to come.

Humidity:
Keep your furniture in a room with a humidity level between 35% and 45%. To get an accurate reading, we recommend using a hygrometer in the room where your furniture is located. Store table leaves in or close to the table to maintain consistent environmental conditions.

Heat:
Keep your furniture out of the path of direct heat sources: heating vents, direct sunlight, etc. Refrain from putting hot serving items, plates, cups directly on the table surface.

Cleaning:

  • Wipe down the furniture with a soft, damp cloth. If necessary, use a mild soap and water with a damp cloth. Make sure remove any standing water. We do not recommend using any polishes that contain silicone or wax.
  • Dust table often and carefully with a soft cloth, following the grain pattern to remove abrasive dust particles.
  • Do not rub your table as this can cause an over buff/shine. Do not use any abrasive cloths or sponges, as this can scratch the surface.

Protect Surfaces:

  • Whenever possible, protect flat surfaces from dragging, scratching, denting or dropping items on them.
  • Use place mats, tablecloths, coasters, and the like to protect against heat and condensation.
  • Use caution with any item that can stain, such as markers and fruits.
  • Use caution when writing or doing anything that can dent the surface.
  • Avoid using nail polish remover, alcohol, or other solvents near the table.
  • We recommend using table or buffet pads for extra protection to help protect your dining surfaces to keep them looking great.
