FAQ

How many people can the Alana seat?

The larger sizes can seat twelve to fourteen guests depending on chair width. Even the base sizes provide ample room for family meals and gatherings.

What is a bow-end top?

A bow end top curves gently at the ends, creating a more elegant silhouette and making end seating more comfortable.

Can I add extensions to every size?

The 42 x 96 and 48 x 96 versions can accept up to four 12-inch leaves. All longer lengths are solid top only to maintain balance and structural integrity.

How do the equalizer slides work?

Heavy duty equalizer slides allow the table to open smoothly and evenly, making it easy for one person to extend the table when guests arrive.

Which wood type highlights grain the most?

Quarter Sawn White Oak, Rustic Cherry, and Hickory offer bold grain patterns. For a smoother, more contemporary look, Brown Maple or Hard Maple are excellent choices.

Is this table durable for daily use?

Yes. With a thick hardwood top, solid pedestals, and precision slides, the Alana is designed for everyday meals as well as large gatherings.

What is the typical lead time?

Handcrafted extension tables generally take 8 to 12 weeks. Quality takes time, and your table will be made to order.

Available Wood Types:

1. Order Completion & Pickup

Once your furniture is finished and ready to ship, it is carefully prepared and picked up by one of our trusted shipping partners.
You’ll receive an email from us confirming that your order has been picked up and is officially on its way.

Our shipping partners operate on a route-based system, planning their deliveries several days in advance.

Seating Tips

Double Pedestal Tables

Double pedestal tables offer excellent seating flexibility, with plenty of open space around the perimeter of the table. Because the bases are positioned toward the center, chairs can be placed along the sides and ends with less interference than you may experience with a trestle base.

This makes double pedestal tables a great choice when maximizing seating is a priority. As the table expands, the pedestals remain out of the way of most seated guests, allowing you to make good use of the additional table space.

Some of our double pedestal tables can also expand significantly for larger gatherings, with drop-down support legs added when needed to provide extra stability.

Drop Down Legs

For tables with five or more extensions, our builders add drop down legs to allow stability at extended lengths. The legs use hinges at the top and they can fold under the top and rest on the mounting plates when not in use. They only need to be used when the table is extended with more than 4 leaves.

Geared table slides

Geared table slides are used on tables with 1 - 4 leaves (unless otherwise noted). These slides allow for ease of use when opening and closing. They cannot be used on tables with 5 or more extensions.

Wooden Table slides

For tables with five or more extensions, we use wooden table slides. These are lighter-weight than the geared extensions and allow for the telescoping function needed to expand to hold up to 12 extensions.
