FAQ
How many people can the Chancellor seat?
The base sizes comfortably seat six to eight guests. With extensions, the table can accommodate much larger gatherings depending on the number of leaves added.
What is a banquet top?
A banquet top provides a slightly elongated profile that is ideal for hosting large groups and formal meals. Combined with the bevel edge, it creates a refined, classic look.
Can the Chancellor self store leaves?
Yes. The table can self store up to four leaves, two with skirts and two without, as long as the total number of ordered leaves is four or fewer.
Why does the table include drop down legs?
Drop down legs ensure stability and prevent flex when the table is extended with five or more leaves. They are used only when needed and fold away when leaves are removed.
Which wood type is best for a traditional look?
Red Oak, Rustic Cherry, and Quarter Sawn White Oak offer rich grain patterns well suited to classic interiors. For a more modern look, consider Brown Maple or Hard Maple.
Is the Chancellor built for daily use?
Yes. With its solid hardwood construction and durable pedestal bases, this table handles everyday meals with ease while also serving as an elegant centerpiece for special occasions.
What is the typical lead time?
Most handcrafted dining tables require about 8 to 12 weeks. Quality takes time, and your table will be built to order.

Below you will find some recommendations from our builders to properly care for our solid, hardwood furniture and will ensure its beauty lasting for years to come.
Humidity:
Keep your furniture in a room with a humidity range that is between 35%-45%. Â In order to get an accurate read, we recommend using a hygrometer in the room where your furniture is.Â
Store table leaves in or close to the table to maintain consistent environmental conditions.
Heat:
Keep your furniture out of the path of direct heat sources: heating vents, direct sunlight, etc. Â Refrain from putting hot serving items, plates, cups directly on the table surface.Â
Cleaning:
Wipe down the furniture with a soft, damp cloth.  If necessary, use a mild soap and water with a damp cloth.  Make sure remove any standing water.  We do not recommend using any polishes that contain silicone or wax. Â
Dust table often and carefully with a soft cloth, following the grain pattern to remove abrasive dust particles.
Do not rub your table as this can cause an over buff/shine. Do not use any abrasive cloths or sponges as this can scratch the surface.
Protect Surfaces:  Whenever possible, protect flat surfaces from dragging, scratching, denting or dropping items on them. Use place mats, tablecloths, coasters and the like to offer protection from heat and condensation.Â
Use caution with any item that can stain, like markers, fruits etc.Â
Use caution when writing or doing anything that can dent the surface.Â
Avoid the use of nail polish remover, alcohol or other solvents near the table.
We recommend using table or buffet pads for extra protection to help protect your dining surfaces to keep them looking great. Â
